I did my math and I must say that the calculation was quite correct.
Very smart move by Trados. SDL Trados is a big-ticket item, so a lot of translators are going to need convincing to break out their wallets. It should be effective for Trados to show that translation memory can pay for itself quickly.
ОтговорИзтриванеHi and thanks for your comment. In my opinion, if ROI would be quick, depends pretty much on the rates and the volumes that a translator has. Maybe German-to-English translators really have a quick ROI - just 6 months according to my calculation but for Bulgarian and Greek translators it would be 3 to 4 times more. But then again Trados is the undeniable leader in field of CAT software so if inclined to make such an investment, you are going to make it either way.
